Transmediale: Tactics for Radical Collaboration
Next week we are hosting a workshop at Transmediale 2019:
This peer-facilitated workshop aims to open up a space to discuss how we can envision collective and collaborative work in the arts and beyond. Participants will discuss technological, communicative and organizational tactics for culture building collectives and communities. Focus will be put on activating resources available to participants and discussing how these resources can be transformed into pragmatic and directly actionable items. The workshop will shed light on the complex structures influencing how we work together such as codes/language/knowledge of different backgrounds, organizational practices, software and financial realities. Particular attention will be paid to technological platforms as mediators for all other processes. Participants will discuss how we can adapt platforms and tech tools that work for us, and not us for them.
Ideally the workshop will provide a welcoming space to experience a process of radical collaboration and the healing feeling of communal self-efficacy, restoring the sense of a "radical outside", agency and caring alliance in times of hyper-individualized labor.
Findings of this workshop will be documented. Target group of this workshop are people of all backgrounds already working in or interested in taking part in collectives, community/event organizers.
